Dar Al Riyadh is seeking an experienced Senior Road Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is central to the design and development of critical infrastructure projects, contributing to the region's sustainable growth and efficient transportation networks.

The Role of Senior Road Engineer

The Senior Road Engineer will specialize in Roads and Grading, taking a lead role in managing the design phase of road infrastructure and grading projects. This position requires a strong foundation in civil engineering design principles, proficiency in relevant design software, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for road and grading projects, encompassing conceptualization, planning, and detailed design phases.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering analyses to inform design and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software and other design tools.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses for pavement design, earthwork, drainage systems, and geometric design of roads and intersections.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and other specialists to integrate their input into the design process.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, codes, and permitting requirements throughout the design phase.
  • Review design alternatives and provide recommendations for optimizing project outcomes in terms of cost-effectiveness, constructability, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to establish design criteria and address technical concerns.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
  • Participate in design review meetings, presentations, and discussions with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Support the procurement process by preparing design documentation, specifications, and cost estimates for bidding.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering design, particularly for roads, highways, and grading.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, with a dedicated focus on roads, highways, and grading projects.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, including geometric design standards, pavement design methodologies, and earthwork calculations.
  • Experience with relevant design codes and standards, such as AASHTO, ASTM, and local transportation agency guidelines.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the design phase of civil engineering projects, from concept development to construction documentation.
