alfanar, headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a diversified company with construction and manufacturing businesses, design & development centers, and facilities across the Middle East and other regions. alfanar Building Systems specializes in manufacturing and marketing a range of construction products, including ceramic wall and floor tiles, façade cladding, and architectural aluminum products. This full-time role for a Sales Engineer I for EXA Ceramics is based in Riyadh and focuses on solution selling to achieve the Project Sales department's targets.

Core Sales Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell the company’s product portfolio, specifically EXA Ceramics.
  • Provide solution selling to prospective clients, executing strategic deals, and modeling financial business cases.
  • Match customer requirements to proposed solutions in a timely manner and according to quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in large contracting companies, designers, architects, contractors, and consultants.
  • Establish effective relationships with specifiers and consultants to secure product approvals.
  • Develop a comprehensive project list covering all market sectors within the assigned territory.
  • Engage with owners, consultants, main contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with management to create and update lists of existing and potential customers, identifying those with potential to exceed budget requirements.
  • Cooperate with the sales manager to set annual sales goals, including product volume, value, and selling price, involving strategic planning and financial forecasting.

Customer Support and Reporting

  • Provide solutions to clients' technical queries and ensure satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.
  • Manage customer statements and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and submit sales reports regularly.
  • Provide monthly project reports detailing project status and other activities affecting the business.
  • Keep accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and performance.
  • Update information on the CRM system and C4C weekly.
  • Handle the preparation of technical prequalification submittals.

Operational Coordination and Professional Standards

  • Liaise with store, logistics, and finance departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with the finance department for internal invoicing and timely payment processing.
  • Attend team meetings and actively contribute improvements, new ideas, and insights.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to protect company property and reputation.
  • Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets, utilizing resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
  • Solve any related problems that arise and escalate complex operational issues when necessary.
  • Ensure quality requirements are met, contributing to the development of effective quality control and processes.
  • Contribute to business process improvements by coordinating written systems, policies, and procedures, and seeking automation opportunities.
  • Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, work instructions, and health, safety, and environmental management controls.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in sales or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.
  • Demonstrated vision and a plan for career path development.
