The Opportunity: SAP EAM Director

Jacobs is seeking an SAP Enterprise Asset Management Director - City Asset Management to join the team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading the city’s enterprise asset management systems, asset information governance, and SAP EAMS implementation within City Asset Management. The Director acts as the business owner for SAP EAMS, overseeing system design, data governance, process integration, reporting, and asset information standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise asset management systems strategy, governance framework, operating model, and SAP EAMS roadmap across City Asset Management and City Operations.
  • Oversee SAP EAMS implementation, including business readiness, data migration, system integration, user acceptance testing, cut-over planning, and go-live support.
  • Define and maintain enterprise asset data standards, asset registers, information governance, master data quality controls, and asset classification frameworks.
  • Establish and manage asset management workflows, KPIs, dashboards, reporting standards, and performance metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead change management, communications, training, user adoption, and early-life support to ensure effective system utilization across stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data quality monitoring, system enhancements, automation, reporting optimization, and lessons learned from operations and audits.
  • Manage consultants, implementation partners, suppliers, budgets, contracts, and performance to ensure sustainable AM system capabilities and value delivery.

System Ownership and Strategic Alignment

As the business owner for SAP EAMS, the Director ensures system design, configuration, workflows, and reporting align with asset management policies, operational requirements, and governance standards. The role ensures SAP EAMS supports maintenance planning, inspections, renewals, lifecycle management, compliance monitoring, service quality, and investment planning. Collaboration with City Operations, O&M teams, Digital, Finance, and Governance functions is essential to align asset data, operational requirements, and AM standards across the city, establishing a single, trusted source of asset information for effective maintenance, lifecycle planning, asset performance monitoring, renewals planning, and investment decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Information Systems, Operations Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree and relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience, up to 15 years, in enterprise asset management systems, asset data governance, maintenance management, infrastructure operations, digital transformation, or facilities management, including senior leadership experience.

Required Expertise and Leadership Skills

  • Proven expertise in SAP EAM/SAP PM, EAMS, CMMS implementations, migrations, optimization, user adoption, and enterprise asset information management.
  • Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, handover, operational readiness, configuration management, asset data governance, and ISO 55000/55001 principles.
  • Experience developing asset data models, asset registers, hierarchies, workflows, KPIs, dashboards, reporting standards, and data quality frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, stakeholders, consultants, suppliers, and implementation partners while driving governance, change management, continuous improvement, and business transformation initiatives.
