About the Senior Accountant Role

Red Sea Global is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by meticulously recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will apply hands-on accounting experience and a deep understanding of accounting principles to execute complex accounting activities and comprehensive financial analyses.

Core Accounting Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries through compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Produce payroll by initiating computer processing, printing checks, and verifying the finished product.
  • Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.

Financial Analysis and Team Oversight

  • Analyze complex financial reports and records.
  • Provide recommendations based on the analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Review journal entries prepared by junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members within the accounting team.
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.

Compliance, Controls, and Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with financial and tax audits.
  • Document and monitor internal controls in support of the auditing team.
  • Complete external audit requirements by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing necessary information to auditors.
  • Ensure legal compliance to avoid challenges.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports.
  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies and controls.
  • Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in departmental systems, processes, and practices.

Required Experience and Professional Attributes

Candidates for the Senior Accountant position should possess proven hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices. The role requires the ability to perform complex accounting activities, conduct thorough financial analyses, and effectively mentor junior team members.
