The Role

Averda is seeking a Senior Business Development Specialist to drive profitable growth in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on identifying, originating, developing, and converting new business opportunities across waste management, recycling, environmental, industrial, and commercial services. The specialist will work closely with the Business Development Director and various internal teams to progress opportunities from initial engagement to contract award.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, originate, and develop new business opportunities within target sectors and accounts in Saudi Arabia.
• Build and maintain a qualified opportunity pipeline aligned with Averda’s growth strategy and revenue objectives.
• Engage prospective clients, key decision-makers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic private-sector and semi-government accounts.
• Research upcoming projects, tenders, market developments, and emerging business opportunities.
• Understand customer requirements and coordinate with internal teams to develop commercially and operationally viable solutions.
• Support the preparation of proposals, tenders, presentations, and commercial offers.
• Participate in client meetings, commercial negotiations, and opportunity development through to contract award and handover.
• Develop account plans for priority customers and identify cross-selling and growth opportunities.
• Monitor competitors, market trends, regulatory developments, and major projects within the Saudi market.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity and pipeline information in the company’s CRM/pipeline management system.
• Ensure opportunities are progressed in line with Averda’s commercial, legal, HSE, risk, and governance requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in business development.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi market.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to proactively engage clients and key stakeholders.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities, build client relationships, and convert market potential into business growth.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working collaboratively with various internal teams including technical, operations, finance, legal, procurement, HSE, and commercial departments.
