The Role: Senior Cost Control Engineer

The Senior Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for overseeing cost control activities across projects, generating detailed financial reports, and providing critical analysis to support project teams. This role requires a professional with a strong background in cost control within a dynamic project environment, capable of both independent work and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise site cost control engineers and ensure adherence to established procedures and plans.
• Monitor and follow up on the accurate implementation of workable budgets and cost control plans.
• Generate comprehensive monthly cost control reports for projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and providing all associated backup documentation.
• Prepare and provide ad-hoc cost reports as required by project management or stakeholders.
• Analyze project expenses by trade and conduct thorough comparisons against the approved budget.
• Review material purchase orders and analyze them in comparison to the budget as part of the monthly reporting process.
• Monitor the status and actual costs related to labor, equipment, and sub-contractors.
• Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to the Construction Team on cost-related matters.
• Review the status of project invoices on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and support the provision and analysis of any costs related to claims.
• Fulfill all requirements of the Project Control Department concerning departmental databases.
• Prepare project cash flow statements and submit monthly status analyses.
• Develop and finalize project close-out reports.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Junior Cost Controllers and other Cost Controllers within the team.
• Handle special assignments related to cost control as needed.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess a strong background in cost control engineering within a project environment. The ideal candidate will have:

• Between 5 to 10 years of experience in cost control, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Proficiency in generating detailed financial reports and performing comprehensive cost analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
