Senior Design Architect

About the Role

Dar Al Riyadh is seeking a Senior Design Architect to lead Concept Design activities from initial project requirements through design development. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and involves preparing and reviewing design concepts, layouts, reports, presentations, and technical documentation for various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Concept Design activities from initial project requirements through design development.
• Prepare and review design concepts, layouts, design reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Translate client requirements and project briefs into practical and effective design solutions.
• Evaluate different design options and provide technical recommendations based on project requirements.
• Review and develop design proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, and technical meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior and mid-level engineers/designers.
• Review design deliverables and ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency before submission.
• Identify design constraints, risks, and technical issues and propose appropriate solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in design consultancy.
• Strong and proven experience in Concept Design.
• Experience working on large-scale engineering/design projects is highly preferred.
• Previous experience with major engineering consultancy firms is preferred.
• Experience in KSA/GCC projects is preferred.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design environments is preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of design principles, engineering standards, and applicable codes.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead design activities and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software.
• Experience presenting design concepts and technical solutions to clients is preferred.

Work Environment

This role operates within a professional design consultancy environment, requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and direct engagement with clients and project stakeholders on significant engineering and design projects.
