Senior Design Manager Infrastructure

About the Role

Mace is seeking a Senior Design Manager Infrastructure to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This part-time role involves working on one of the largest mixed-use development programmes in Saudi Arabia, which includes sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. Mace acts as a delivery partner, requiring experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout the project phases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the design team by setting objectives, managing performance, and fostering a high-performing culture aligned with organizational values and safety requirements.
• Oversee design progress reporting, analytics, and risk management, identifying issues and implementing mitigation and value engineering strategies.
• Direct technical design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements, design briefs, systems engineering, BIM, GIS, innovation, and relevant standards.
• Manage the design process from concept through construction documentation, coordinating consultants and ensuring alignment with project objectives and ways of working.
• Ensure all designs are fit for purpose, incorporating Safety in Design principles, quality assurance processes, regulatory compliance, and design sign-off requirements.
• Lead interface coordination among internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage impacts on project schedules, budgets, quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure design development aligns with approved cost plans, business objectives, operational requirements, and change management procedures, including assessment of design changes.
• Oversee the development of design and engineering Work Breakdown Structures and ensure deliverables support procurement, construction staging, project phasing, and successful project execution.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
