About the Senior English Copywriter Role

LEO MEA (Middle East & Africa) is seeking a Senior English Copywriter for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is for a hands-on copywriter with natural storytelling ability and experience in an agency environment, creating conceptually driven campaigns and crafting copy in English and Arabic for global brands.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior English Copywriter is responsible for developing compelling concepts and copy for advertising campaigns in English and Arabic. Working collaboratively with the creative team, this role involves crafting communication pieces and campaigns across various mediums to effectively convey campaign messages and goals while resonating with the target audience. The position handles projects from concept to final execution and includes overseeing and mentoring junior copywriters. Experience in client interaction, including presenting and rationalizing work, is expected.

• Writing and editing copy, including product descriptions, and proofreading content.
• Ensuring consistency across all prepared content.
• Partnering with Art Directors to develop creative concepts for marketing materials and campaigns.
• Demonstrating a keen understanding of all channels within the 1:1 marketing space.
• Understanding the role of data intelligence in achieving communication objectives.
• Making conceptual and strategic decisions across diverse clients and industries.
• Taking briefs, crafting succinct and effective copy, writing and formatting copy decks, and interpreting brand tone of voice and language.
• Developing and executing strategically sound creative for cross-channel initiatives.
• Persuasively presenting work internally and to clients with credibility, reasoning, and emotion.
• Actively listening to understand project requirements, client feedback, and internal feedback.
• Ensuring communications are produced to high standards of accuracy and quality control.
• Delivering fresh ideas and personality while working within existing brand voice and tone.
• Conceptualizing and writing content for various mediums, including white papers, scripts, in-store signage, and social media.
• Researching competitors and the industry to provide insights into trends and creative foresight.
• Collaborating with creative team members to ensure ideas, copy, and design form a cohesive story.
• Proactively contributing actionable and thought-provoking ideas in partnership with creative leaders.
• Managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
• Investigating industry best practices and new possibilities.
• Participating in opportunity briefs to consistently stretch creative abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in concept creation.
• A clear understanding of the distinction between a communication concept and an exceptional idea.
• Mastery in developing English copy for large cross-channel and/or direct-marketing initiatives across various media, both online and offline.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• Fluency in spoken Arabic.
