About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior GIS Applications Development Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves developing and maintaining GIS applications to support geospatial data products, ensuring they are optimized, user-friendly, and adhere to relevant geospatial data standards and policies. The role contributes to BAE Systems Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of national capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GIS applications to support geospatial data and intelligence products.
• Ensure all GIS applications are optimized and user-friendly, meeting applicable geospatial data standards and policies.
• Collaborate with other geospatial specialists to integrate GIS applications into geospatial products.
• Apply analytical and programming skills to develop optimal GIS applications.
• Monitor GIS application development processes to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of GIS applications development platforms and tools.
• Plan and organize team activities, with the ability to work effectively unsupervised.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in GIS applications development roles.
• A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• A Certificate in GIS.
• Strong knowledge of GIS application development principles and technologies.
• Knowledge of data management and database systems.
• Familiarity with geospatial data standards and policies.
• Experience in developing GIS applications for desktop, web, and mobile platforms.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and programming skills.
• Proficiency in using software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS, GeoServer, Python, R, SQL, and JavaScript.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers.
