About Omrania and the Role

Omrania is seeking a Senior Landscape Design Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company has a significant portfolio of regional projects, including historical and cultural spaces, as well as large urban parks. This full-time role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth within a continuous pipeline of projects. Preference will be given to Saudi Nationals for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement early-stage and technical design for Landscape Architecture projects, ensuring efficient execution.
  • Oversee assigned projects, maintaining adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop commercial expertise related to contractual scope and change management.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Department (HoD) and Project Managers (PMs) on project resource planning.
  • Contribute to the review, planning, and technical assessment of sub-consultants' scope.
  • Lead and mentor a team of architects, designers, and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Oversee quality controls and design checks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Integrate early MEP, Fire and Life Safety (FLS), and specialty requirements.
  • Conduct FLS basic reviews and implement report recommendations.
  • Lead the delivery of large projects, providing specialist technical expertise during design and construction.
  • Delegate tasks, monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure all required quality checking and approval procedures are completed.
  • Communicate clearly with project stakeholders (clients, consultants, contractors) to manage expectations.
  • Participate in proposal preparation, including scope identification, design methodology, design management plan, deliverables, and design budget.
  • Participate in or initiate project documentation such as Minutes of Meeting (MOM), Design Change logs, Coordination logs, and Risk registers.

Design and Technical Expertise

  • Oversee and review project concept design preparation, including design delivery plans, design management plans, presentations, drawings, and reports.
  • Collaborate with HoD and PMs on complex design challenges and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality design documents and construction drawings.
  • Develop the project list of deliverables in alignment with the project contract brief.
  • Stay current with industry trends, building codes, authority regulations, and best practices in architectural design.
  • Lead and oversee the design production and coordination process within the discipline and with other disciplines (civil, structure, MEP, ID, Architecture, vertical transportation, and specialists).
  • Conduct technical review and assessment of sub-consultants’ deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team on architectural trackers and reports.
  • Oversee and review the development of project Building Information Modeling (BIM) Models.
  • Review digital models’ progress and production quality.
  • Utilize BIM workflows for all coordination and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Utilize BIM software effectively and contribute to BIM workflows within projects.
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects within allocated timeframes and budgets.
  • Collaborate with specification writers for the development of project architectural specifications.
  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors (QS) for the development of project Bills of Quantities (BOQs) related to architecture.
  • Contribute to project Value Engineering (VE) sessions.
  • Contribute to project tendering processes related to architecture.
  • Provide remote project site support related to architecture from the office.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Demonstrate fluency in spoken and written communication.
  • Actively lead and participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops.
  • Clearly communicate design concepts, project progress, and potential challenges to clients.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, their consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful working environment.
  • Accountable for maintaining client satisfaction.

Departmental Operations and Team Leadership

  • Report weekly to the HoD/Management on project schedules, deadlines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Work in close coordination with the assigned Project Manager (PM).
  • Lead and coordinate with team members within assigned projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with other disciplines and external consultants.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance review sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of team members' architectural and technical skills through mentoring programs in coordination with the HoD.
  • Assume full ownership of assigned design projects.

Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in landscape design and project management. A strong understanding of design management principles, technical execution, and proficiency in BIM software and workflows are essential. The ability to lead and mentor design teams, coupled with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, is required.
