About the Role

The British Council is seeking a Senior Manager Student Journey & Alumni Engagement to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role serves as a locally embedded engagement and delivery lead within a globally connected alumni ecosystem. The position supports the delivery and growth of the Alumni UK programme in Saudi Arabia through alumni engagement, stakeholder coordination, community development, and programme delivery activities.

Role Purpose and Context

This role is responsible for delivering country-level alumni engagement activities that align with global Alumni UK, International Student Mobility, and broader Education priorities. The Senior Manager contributes to the British Council’s strategic objectives in international education, soft power, international relationship building, and global alumni engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of country-level alumni engagement plans aligned with global Alumni UK priorities.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with alumni, alumni ambassadors, universities, employers, professional networks, and wider stakeholders.
  • Support the development and activation of alumni communities, networks, and thematic engagement groups.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen alumni participation, engagement, and advocacy across Alumni UK activities.
  • Support the identification and development of alumni stories, case studies, and ambassador activities that demonstrate the impact of UK education and international collaboration.
  • Coordinate local delivery of centrally developed communications, toolkits, and engagement activities across relevant channels and stakeholder networks.
  • Work with marketing and digital colleagues to increase visibility, participation, and alumni registration growth.
  • Design and coordinate engaging alumni events, networking activities, and skills initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of flagship and locally led alumni engagement events, including communications, registration management, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure activities are inclusive, high quality, and aligned with programme objectives.
  • Contribute to strengthening awareness and visibility of Alumni UK activities in-country.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess the pre-existing, legal right to work in Saudi Arabia.
  • Mobility, relocation, or visa sponsoring support will not be provided for this role.

Work Environment

The British Council supports new ways of working, such as hybrid working, subject to full approval by line management and conditional upon the ability to provide the appropriate level of service.
