About the Role

The British Council is seeking a Senior Manager Student Journey & Alumni Engagement to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on supporting the growth and delivery of the Alumni UK programme within the country, fostering strong connections between alumni, the UK, and local education ecosystems.

Role Context and Objectives

This position acts as a locally embedded engagement and delivery lead within a globally connected alumni ecosystem. The Senior Manager will contribute to the British Council’s strategic objectives in international education, soft power, international relationship building, and global alumni engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and growth of the Alumni UK programme in-country through alumni engagement, stakeholder coordination, community development, and programme delivery activities.
  • Deliver country-level alumni engagement activities aligned with global Alumni UK, International Student Mobility, and wider Education priorities.
  • Support the development of active, inclusive, and professionally relevant alumni communities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni, alumni ambassadors, universities, employers, professional bodies, and wider stakeholders.
  • Support the collection of engagement insight, monitoring data, and impact evidence to strengthen programme learning and reporting.

Candidate Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of education, international education, or alumni engagement environments.
  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, partnerships, or community engagement activities.
  • Experience coordinating events, communications, or programme delivery activities.
  • Experience working with digital engagement systems, CRM platforms, or audience databases.
  • Experience supporting audience engagement, communications, or community-building initiatives.
  • Experience supporting monitoring, reporting, or insight collection activities.
  • Understanding of data protection, consent management, and responsible data handling principles.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in international or multicultural environments.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.

Work Arrangement

The British Council supports new ways of working, including hybrid working models. This is subject to line management approval and the ability to maintain appropriate service levels. The suitability of hybrid working for this role can be discussed during the interview process.
