About the Opportunity

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Senior Material Handling Engineer specialising in Set Part Supply (SPS) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position supports a leading automotive manufacturing organisation in developing advanced production and intralogistics operations for a new vehicle manufacturing facility. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in relevant material handling engineering.

Role Overview

The Senior Material Handling Engineer will lead the planning, design, and industrialisation of Set Part Supply (SPS) solutions within an automotive assembly environment. This position is responsible for securing the successful industrialisation and implementation of SPS solutions that support new-product introduction and major logistics-process changes. The scope covers the complete SPS flow, from material preparation and sequencing through to presentation at the production line.

Key Responsibilities and Solution Design

• Develop and implement SPS strategies for automotive assembly and line-feeding operations.
• Design and implement complete SPS solutions, including high-level and detailed process flows, process descriptions, operating principles, block layouts, detailed part-by-part layouts, line-side presentation and replenishment concepts, system functionality, operational requirements, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• Manage the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and maintain flexibility for product and master-data changes.
• Manage logistics layouts and ensure alignment with the overall plant design.
• Plan the introduction of product changes while protecting physical material flow and production continuity.
• Drive the implementation of logistics equipment, tooling, and line-side material-presentation solutions.

Logistics Equipment and Project Management

• Define required material-handling and logistics equipment, such as tuggers, tow trains, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), flow racks, line-side storage equipment, pick-to-light systems, scanners, screens, and other logistics IT equipment.
• Design SPS carts for each material flow, including concepts, standards, and CAD drawings.
• Prepare equipment specifications and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
• Support procurement activities, technical evaluations, and vendor selection.
• Follow up supplier design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and validation processes.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, logistics, IT, procurement, and engineering stakeholders.
• Define and track project-equipment budgets and regularly report project status.
• Maintain complete technical and project documentation.
• Ensure activities and documentation comply with applicable ISO standards and internal procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience in material handling engineering, with a strong focus on Set Part Supply (SPS) within an automotive context. This is a site-based position in Riyadh, requiring close coordination with production, logistics, engineering, procurement, IT, and equipment suppliers.
