About the Role

Sirar by stc is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer (L3 Support) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing advanced network security support, managing escalations, and ensuring the stability and availability of systems on a 24/7 basis. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide up to Level-3 support for IT network security issues.
• Handle escalations and offer advisory and support functions to front and back office teams.
• Address and resolve security-related incidents and issues, including those outside regular working hours.
• Respond to and resolve escalated issues from L1 support teams in a timely manner.
• Participate in system updates and upgrades to maintain functionality and security.
• Analyze incoming requests for potential risks and identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses, exploitation methods, and effects on systems.
• Conduct regular security reviews and assessments.
• Support the change management process by documenting and executing system changes, coordinating with appropriate teams to minimize disruption.
• Facilitate the handover of new systems and services, ensuring smooth transitions and knowledge transfer.
• Assist in providing knowledge transfer sessions to L1 teams to enhance their ability to handle common issues.
• Conduct regular PMR health checks to monitor system availability and security status.
• Assist in identifying system vulnerabilities and support mitigation efforts.
• Help identify unused features within systems to enhance efficiency and monitor system performance, reporting any issues.
• Participate in regular system clean-up activities and assist in disaster recovery drills.
• Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and security professionals to resolve complex technical issues.
• Coordinate and communicate issues requiring escalation to different teams and initiate follow-up procedures.
• Evaluate fault reports to identify root causes and generate incident reports.
• Open and manage tickets with vendors, collaborating with their support teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of faults.
• Maintain detailed records of ticket statuses and vendor communications for troubleshooting and future reference.
• Document lessons learned from events and exercises, and facilitate the sharing of best practices and recommendations within cyber operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in network security or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide L3 support and manage escalations.
• Experience in incident response and issue resolution.
• Proficiency in conducting security reviews, assessments, and vulnerability identification.
• Strong understanding of change management processes and system documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring a commitment to ensuring system stability and availability on a 24/7 basis.
