About the Role

Elia Grid International (EGI) is seeking a Senior Power System Planning Expert to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic, technical, and regulatory advisory services, addressing complex challenges within the global energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and define planning principles for power systems.
  • Define and validate power system models.
  • Enhance methodologies for planning power systems, particularly concerning massive Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integration, demand evolution, and transmission investment optimization.
  • Master links with technico-economic models to define critical operating points.
  • Conduct steady-state analysis, including load flow, short circuit calculations, and hosting capacity.
  • Perform dynamic stability analysis, covering frequency, transient, and voltage stability.
  • Support the analysis and evaluation of grid reliability and security, such as capacity calculation, balancing, and operational planning.
  • Prepare reports detailing analysis results.
  • Engage with clients to present and gain acceptance for proposed solutions and development plans.
  • Supervise power system teams and their project contributions.
  • Manage consultancy services projects.
  • Assist the company’s business development teams in identifying and pursuing opportunities through client relationship building and proposal development.
