Senior Project Manager Greenfield Industrial Project

About the Role

Sika is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves leading a significant strategic investment that includes the construction of a new manufacturing facility and the consolidation of existing operations in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will manage the entire project lifecycle, from concept development and design through construction, commissioning, start-up, and final handover.

Project Leadership and Execution

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, engineering, execution, and delivery of greenfield industrial construction and site consolidation projects. This includes developing and managing detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans. The role requires defining project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with business requirements and Sika’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, procurement, finance, HSE, and quality functions.
• Ensure effective project governance and reporting throughout all project phases.
• Manage all construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project progress against schedule, budget, and quality objectives, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Conduct regular site inspections, progress reviews, and project meetings.
• Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring contractual obligations, quality standards, and timelines are achieved.
• Manage project changes, claims, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Implement robust project controls covering planning, scheduling, cost control, reporting, and risk management.
• Utilize project management tools such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project to track performance and project deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
• Lead plant commissioning, start-up, testing, and operational readiness activities.
• Ensure all systems are handed over in accordance with project specifications and operational requirements.
• Coordinate training, documentation, punch-list closure, and final acceptance processes.
• Support transition from project execution to plant operations.

Stakeholder Management and Compliance

• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external project stakeholders.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, government authorities, and regulatory agencies.
• Provide regular project status updates, risk assessments, and financial reports to senior management.
• Ensure alignment between project objectives and broader business strategies.
• Ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations, permitting requirements, industry standards, and Sika policies.
• Promote and maintain a strong Safety, Health, Environment, and Sustainability (HSES) culture throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to quality management procedures and corporate governance standards.
• Maintain effective risk management practices and ensure project documentation is properly controlled and maintained.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, specifically within industrial construction.
• Proven technical expertise in industrial construction.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
