About the Senior Projects Risk Engineer Role

Hill International, Inc. is seeking a Senior Projects Risk Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is responsible for overseeing all project planning and delivery phases, with a significant emphasis on risk management, contract administration, procurement, tendering, estimating, and cost control.

Core Responsibilities and Project Oversight

The Senior Projects Risk Engineer will lead and manage all aspects of project planning and execution, from pre-construction through to completion. This includes close collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Regular coordination meetings will be facilitated to ensure effective decision-making across all project lifecycles. The role also involves the preparation and implementation of comprehensive risk management plans, addressing costs, claims, and change orders, and resolving conflicts to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

• Oversee all aspects of project planning, development, and implementation, focusing on contract management, procurement, tendering, estimating, and cost control.
• Ensure a strong working knowledge of schedule management and the sequence of activities from pre-design through construction and closeout.
• Facilitate meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to identify, assess, and evaluate risk issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and implement risk management plans, including procedures for risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation.
• Manage costs, claims associated with cost and time, change order processes, and conflict resolution.
• Predict potential financial liabilities based on provided data.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, to required quality standards, and within the agreed scope, adhering to established project management methodologies.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, including Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Management from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering and/or project management.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying problems, assessing alternatives, and determining solutions.
• Proven experience and understanding of commercial risk management practices and procedures.
• Proven experience in risk quantification (cost/schedule/quality/safety).
• Proven experience in maintaining risk management databases (*, ARM).
• Proven experience with corporate risk management procedures.
• Experience working internationally is preferred, with Saudi Arabia experience being an advantage.

Professional Attributes

Candidates should possess the reliability and initiative to deliver success without immediate supervision. A strong background in pre-construction management, including contract management, procurement, tendering, estimating, and cost control, is essential. Good working knowledge of schedule management and activity sequencing is also required.
