ECEC East Consulting Engineering Company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor Design to join its professional team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to the successful delivery of large-scale, complex building and infrastructure design projects within the company's portfolio.

Role Overview: Senior Quantity Surveyor Design

The Senior Quantity Surveyor Design is responsible for the comprehensive management and production of accurate, high-quality, and timely estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, and specifications. This role covers architecture, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines, focusing on design projects. A primary outcome of this position is the delivery of precise and timely cost plans, specifications, and bills of quantities, ensuring seamless coordination with all other required design disciplines.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review specifications, utilizing CSI Master Format or similar standards.
  • Review structural and architectural drawing packages, raising RFIs and QA/QC comments as necessary.
  • Perform measurement and take-off for all architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering items and quantities for specific complex design projects, adhering to quality, timeline, and design budget requirements.
  • Develop detailed construction cost plans for design projects, aligning with designs developed at each stage of the project.
  • Obtain and follow up on data with Design Leads, Project Managers, internal staff, other consultants, and contractors to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality production of cost plans, specifications, and bills of quantities.
  • Assist Project Managers in the preparation and implementation of project cost plans, bills of quantities, and specifications, coordinating with the assigned project team.
  • Manage value engineering exercises to optimize project costs and efficiency.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as directed.

Project Management and Coordination

This role requires proactive coordination with internal disciplines and teams within ECEC, as well as with third parties, concerning technical, financial, safety, quality, and schedule elements of a project. The objective is to ensure the production of accurate cost plans, specifications, and bills of quantities. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will leverage an existing network of cost management professionals, suppliers, and contractors for cost-related information, while building and maintaining professional relationships with internal stakeholders, other consultants, and contractors. This includes coordinating with Lead Engineers and Project Managers to support the submittal of overall project deliverables for concept, schematic, and detailed design stages in line with planned project timelines.

Candidate Profile and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying for design projects. The role requires a strong understanding of project briefs and the ability to work proactively, constructively, and fairly with all parties to ensure successful execution of duties. Experience with CSI format for cost plans, specifications, and bills of quantities is essential.
