About the Senior Sales Engineer Role

Commvault is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is primarily focused on providing technical pre-sales support to Commvault’s partners and channel, supporting partner-focused sales teams throughout the sales cycle. The position requires a strong technical contributor who understands how their decisions impact customer value and drive revenue for Commvault.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Senior Sales Engineer acts as a trusted advisor to clients at all levels, including C-Suite executives and technical stakeholders. This role also involves leadership, mentoring, and teaching within the team to contribute to Commvault's overall success. The SSE drives or supports complex sales opportunities by translating business requirements into solution technical requirements, coordinating technical expertise, and defining delivery and deployment approaches. Responsibilities also include sizing, scoping, defining timelines and required resources, coordinating demonstrations and proof-of-concept, and supporting internal deal acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the regional Pre-Sales team and report to the Regional Pre-Sales Leader.
  • Present and demonstrate the Commvault software suite of products through presentations, whiteboards, and live demonstrations.
  • Work with internal departments, including sales, support, marketing, and channel teams, to ensure successful sales campaigns and positive partner experiences.
  • Assist in achieving annual revenue goals in line with Commvault’s regional business plan.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and maintain regular communication with the regional and global Pre-Sales community, as well as other technical and development functions.
  • Act as a leader within the Pre-Sales division and serve as a technical resource.
  • Actively participate in Sales and regional meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), providing technical leadership on relevant topics.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience (0-1 years) within the Software / SaaS industry in a similar capacity, specifically within Data Management, Security, and Cyber Resiliency.
  • Proven success in managing Enterprise clients and working on high-level deals.
  • Experience with sophisticated Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Competence in prioritizing work and balancing workloads effectively.

Technical Expertise

Candidates must possess a wide range of technical knowledge in data management, including:

  • Applications and cloud environments.
  • Compliance and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Tape infrastructure, storage arrays, and storage networking.
  • Networking protocols and general connectivity in multi-platform enterprise environments.
