SENIOR SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ADMIN

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist Admin. This full-time role involves evaluating and treating patients' skills in speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing, while also dedicating significant time to administrative duties and research within the Speech Language Pathology section.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide habilitative and rehabilitative care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, implementation, and discharge planning for patients receiving speech language pathology services.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with policies and administrative regulations.
• Determine the need for and carry out referrals to other specialists.
• Educate patients and caregivers as required.
• Provide in-service training to other departments and services.
• Conduct research in areas of specialty within speech language pathology.
• Develop handouts, tests, and treatment materials, considering current practices and the multicultural needs of Saudi patients.
• Manage specialized teams under the supervision of the Head, Speech Language Pathology.
• Supervise speech language evaluation and treatment services provided by intern-students and SCDPs completing clinical practicum requirements.
• Provide feedback to intern-students and SCDPs to support clinical work and skill development.
• Dedicate 60% of working hours to direct patient care and 40% to administrative responsibilities, including developing clinical and educational materials in Arabic, supervising SCDPs, interns, and junior staff, initiating clinical research, and conducting quality of service activities. Administrative time may be utilized clinically during staff shortages as assigned.
• Participate in self and others’ education, training, and development activities.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.

Required Experience and Skills

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in speech language pathology.
• Proficiency in evaluating patient skills across speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of departmental tests, equipment, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Ability to conduct and initiate clinical research activities.
• Strong supervisory skills for interns, students, and junior staff.
• Capability to develop educational and clinical materials, particularly in Arabic.
