Speech and Language Therapist

About the Role

AMAD Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join its team. This full-time position involves preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating various communication and swallowing disorders in both children and adults. The role requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on delivering patient care that meets international standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Speech and Language Therapist will be responsible for a range of duties, encompassing clinical practice, administrative tasks, and educational contributions.

• Develop and maintain therapy service standards.
• Collaborate with nursing, allied health staff, interdisciplinary teams, and executive officers on program and service development.
• Promote speech therapy services to patients, referrers, and the public, and engage in business development.
• Deliver patient care aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
• Facilitate treatment for a wide range of speech and language disorders, including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, and language delays.
• Identify underlying causes for speech defects, such as severe injuries, strokes, or vocal cord dysfunction.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on assessments, goals, and patient expectations.
• Communicate with the patient care team regarding recommendations and home environment for admission and discharge planning.
• Maintain an active caseload as required by service demand.
• Promote a cooperative and effective environment for patient care within the facility.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to guide and improve clinical standards.
• Participate in quality management activities, including the accreditation process.
• Evaluate factors related to safety, outcomes, effectiveness, cost, and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovations.
• Contribute to the Hospital’s Quality and Audit Programs.
• Engage in staff development activities aligned with service delivery and learning goals.
• Lead and participate in educational activities within and across departments.
• Play a significant role in developing hospital programs, quality initiatives, policies, procedures, and competencies.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following:

• 2-5 years of experience in speech and language therapy.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver care that meets international standards.
• Strong clinical and operational performance capabilities.
