Role Overview

Howden is seeking a Senior Treaty Reinsurance Broker to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves structuring, negotiating, and placing treaty reinsurance programs with regional and international markets. The primary objective is to ensure optimal coverage, competitive pricing, and long-term value for our clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Structure and negotiate treaty reinsurance programs, including both proportional and non-proportional arrangements, with reinsurers.
  • Advise clients on treaty design, pricing, capacity, and coverage terms and conditions.
  • Present treaty programs to the market to secure the most competitive and advantageous terms.
  • Manage treaty renewals, mid-term adjustments, and ongoing treaty performance.
  • Service allocated client accounts and provide technical support to colleagues as required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate treaty documentation, slips, and records in compliance with established standards.

Client and Market Strategy

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' portfolios, risk appetite, and strategic objectives.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, fostering strong and strategic relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for new treaties, program optimization, and cross-selling solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with global reinsurers and markets.
  • Share market insights and intelligence with internal colleagues.
  • Provide regular updates on treaty renewals, pricing trends, and capacity changes to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on placement strategies and client servicing.

Professional Growth and Team Leadership

  • Contribute to and actively follow a Professional Development Plan (PDP).
  • Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to treaty reinsurance.
  • Stay informed of regulatory developments, market trends, and emerging risks within the reinsurance sector.
  • Manage workflow effectively by delegating tasks and optimizing team resources.
  • Support, coach, and mentor junior brokers and analysts.
  • Conduct performance appraisals constructively and on time.
  • Promote continuous improvement in client servicing, operational efficiency, and placement strategies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in treaty reinsurance brokering or a related field.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic environment focused on delivering strategic reinsurance solutions to clients.
