Senior Virtualisation Engineer

About the Role

Mina Excellence is seeking a Senior Virtualisation Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise virtualization infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support across VMware environments and ensure the stability and performance of virtual systems.

Role Overview

The Senior Virtualisation Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive management of VMware environments, including ESXi, vCenter, clusters, and associated components. This position requires expertise in capacity management, performance optimization, and the resolution of complex incidents within virtualized infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, datastores, and virtual machines.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support for complex virtualization incidents and problems.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Monitor and optimize virtualization infrastructure performance and resource utilization.
• Conduct capacity planning and identify potential infrastructure constraints.
• Manage VM provisioning, configuration, migration, and lifecycle activities.
• Support VMware upgrades, patching, maintenance, and infrastructure migrations.
• Monitor cluster health, availability, performance, and capacity.
• Collaborate with storage, backup, network, and other infrastructure teams.
• Support backup and disaster recovery activities, including VMware environments integrated with Veeam.
• Participate in major incident resolution and technical escalation activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.
• Adhere to ITSM, change management, security, and infrastructure governance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in virtualization engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing enterprise VMware environments.
• Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, technologies, and best practices.
• Experience with Veeam integration for backup and disaster recovery is required.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a dedicated infrastructure team, collaborating with various technical departments to ensure robust and efficient virtualization services.
