About the Steward Role at Four Points by Sheraton

Four Points by Sheraton is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as a full-time Steward. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with 0-1 years of experience who are committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency within our kitchen and dining areas. The Steward plays a crucial role in ensuring a hygienic and organized environment for both guests and staff.

Key Kitchen and Cleaning Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment thoroughly.
• Utilize detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink for effective dish cleaning.
• Rack and spray all items with hot water to remove food residue before cleaning.
• Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware as needed, and break down dirty bus tubs.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, returning any soiled items for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
• Ensure all clean wares are stored in their appropriate designated areas.

Operational Support and Facility Upkeep

• Receive deliveries, ensure proper storage of perishables, and rotate stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Empty and maintain trashcans and the dumpster area, ensuring cleanliness and proper waste disposal.
• Clean and mop all assigned departmental areas to maintain hygiene standards.
• Dispose of glass in designated containers and break down cardboard boxes for recycling.

Workplace Standards and Safety Adherence

• Adhere strictly to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management promptly.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Protect company assets and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, supporting the team in achieving common goals.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Physical Demands and Candidate Profile

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks. Candidates should be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
