About the Engineering Supervisor Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a candidate with 2-5 years of relevant experience to oversee and execute essential maintenance and operational tasks within the hotel's engineering department.

Core Responsibilities

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and preventive servicing of all tools, appliances, and equipment. This includes identifying and recommending replacements for aging or malfunctioning items. The role also involves ensuring all controls, gauges, and meters are properly calibrated and that shut-off valves are correctly identified and utilized. Maintaining accurate inventory and purchase order logs is also a key duty.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Inspecting tools, equipment, and machines.
• Operating a forklift safely.
• Completing safety checklists, including operational checks for fire pumps and generators.
• Inspecting fire hoses and alarm systems.
• Assisting in the development of disaster response protocols.
• Responding to and fulfilling customer repair requests.
• Entering and locating work-related information using computer systems.

Supervisory and Team Engagement

This role involves assisting management with employee-related functions, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and advising staff. The supervisor will schedule employees and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Fostering positive and constructive relationships with peers, supporting team members, and encouraging the achievement of common goals are essential. The supervisor must also listen to and address employee concerns appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma from a technical, trade, or vocational school is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is necessary.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience is mandatory.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including reaching objects overhead and below knee level, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Employees must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 23 kilograms without assistance. Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and shape are also necessary. The position requires standing, walking, and moving throughout the entire shift, as well as climbing stairs and service ramps. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance and ensuring confidentiality of proprietary information are expected.
