About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Sustainability Lead to provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for a major Airport, Infrastructure, and Airfield Development Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability strategies across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with international sustainability standards, client objectives, environmental requirements, and airport development best practices.

The Sustainability Lead will support sustainable delivery across all project components, including passenger terminals, runways, taxiways, cargo aprons, aircraft stands, external infrastructure, utilities, buildings, and airport operational facilities. The role requires extensive experience in sustainability management, green building practices, environmental performance, carbon reduction strategies, energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and stakeholder coordination within major airport or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the project sustainability strategy and management framework.
• Establish sustainability objectives, targets, KPIs, and performance monitoring requirements.
• Provide strategic sustainability guidance to project leadership, engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure sustainability objectives are integrated into design, procurement, construction, and operational phases.
• Manage sustainability certification activities and compliance requirements for airport facilities, including green building rating systems such as LEED, BREEAM, Envision, Estidama, or equivalent.
• Develop and monitor carbon management strategies, supporting the implementation of reduction initiatives.
• Lead sustainability initiatives related to water efficiency and resource management, reviewing strategies for conservation, rainwater management, and wastewater reuse.
• Review engineering and architectural designs to ensure sustainability objectives are achieved, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor contractor compliance with sustainability requirements during construction, including reviewing plans and conducting audits.
• Coordinate with Client representatives, Airport authorities, Environmental agencies, and other project stakeholders.
• Develop sustainability reports, dashboards, and performance updates, tracking progress against targets.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A Master's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related field is preferred.

Essential Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in sustainability management, environmental engineering, or sustainable infrastructure delivery.
• Proven experience supporting major airport developments, aviation infrastructure projects, transportation programs, or large-scale infrastructure developments.
• Strong experience implementing sustainability strategies during design, construction, and operational phases.
• Experience managing sustainability requirements within Delivery Partner environments, PMC organizations, EPC projects, or Client-side project teams.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating sustainability consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental management, and sustainable infrastructure practices.
• Experience with sustainability rating systems including LEED, BREEAM, Envision, or equivalent.
• Understanding of airport sustainability requirements and operational constraints.
• Experience preparing sustainability reports, assessments, and compliance documentation.
