Sustainability Manager

About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Sustainability Manager to join the Sustainability and Environment team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading the delivery of sustainability, decarbonization, net zero, energy, GHG, and green building certification projects within the built environment sector. The role requires strong technical expertise and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage workstreams and client interfaces independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of sustainability, decarbonization, net zero, energy, GHG, and green building certification projects.
• Collaborate with the Middle East team to develop regional offerings and build on specialized technical knowledge.
• Deliver high-quality technical outputs and manage project tasks and teams.
• Support business development activities, including pursuit opportunities, proposals, and technical submissions.
• Prepare technical methodologies, scope definitions, and fee estimates.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Participate in client presentations, workshops, and strategy discussions.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and project extensions.
• Manage project workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Plan and monitor project deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Support project quality assurance and governance processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Development, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant sustainability consulting experience.
• Strong expertise in one or more sustainability disciplines, including sustainable buildings, sustainable communities, decarbonization, climate resilience, commissioning, or existing buildings.
• Experience leading sustainability assessments, energy studies, carbon assessments, and technical analyses.
• Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale projects across multiple project stages.
• Strong knowledge of green building certification systems such as LEED, WELL, Mostadam, Estidama, BREEAM, or equivalent.
• Understanding of sustainability regulations, policies, industry standards, and net zero frameworks.
• Experience with certification in the built environment for mega projects in Saudi Arabia.

Team and Mentorship

This role involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to the continuous development of sustainability services and methodologies. The Sustainability Manager will line manage and support consultants and graduate team members, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
