About the Systems Engineer (Linux) Role

DeepSource Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer (Linux) to join its technical team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time position is specifically open to Saudi Nationals and is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, with no prior experience required for qualified applicants.

Role Overview

The Systems Engineer will play a key role in managing and maintaining critical Unix-based operating systems, with a primary focus on Linux environments. This involves ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of systems through proactive management, technical support, and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the configuration, installation, and maintenance of Unix operating systems, including AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, and VCS clusters.
• Apply patches and updates to ensure systems are current and secure.
• Implement and manage security measures to protect systems from vulnerabilities and threats, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and security best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance, collaborating closely with other IT teams such as network, database, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, including configuring hardware, adjusting kernel parameters, and managing system resources.
• Provide fast and effective Business As Usual (BAU) support for incidents and requests, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Investigate and resolve complex system issues, including hardware failures, software bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement monitoring tools and scripts (bash) to proactively manage system health and performance.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
