The Role of Technical Manager

SAUDICO is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead and manage the technical activities of its construction projects. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing design coordination, technical submissions, construction drawings, and engineering matters, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all technical and design-related activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure proper coordination and constructability.
• Manage and coordinate technical submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals, and design changes.
• Coordinate closely with consultants, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure construction drawings and technical documents comply with project specifications, approved designs, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams during project execution.
• Identify design conflicts and technical risks and recommend practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Lead technical coordination meetings and follow up on outstanding technical matters.
• Support value engineering initiatives and propose alternative technical solutions where applicable.
• Monitor technical deliverables and ensure timely approvals to avoid delays to the construction program.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, approvals, technical correspondence, and design revisions.
• Support project management in technical evaluations, planning, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant technical management role within the construction industry.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical activities for construction projects.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, technical submissions, and engineering standards.
• Proficiency in reviewing architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
