About the Role

Saudi Services for Electro-Mechanic Works Co. (SSEM) is seeking a Testing & Commissioning Engineer specializing in 380/132/* kV substations. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires 2-5 years of experience. The role focuses on ensuring electrical infrastructure meets high standards of reliability and performance within the market research sector.

Role Context and Purpose

The Testing & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the operational readiness of substations, including GIS, switchgear, and control & protection systems. This involves applying technical skills to assess equipment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal system function before live operation. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing of 380/132/* kV substations, including GIS and switchgear, to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, utilizing advanced testing equipment and methodologies.
• Develop and implement detailed testing plans that align with project specifications and timelines, ensuring all aspects of the commissioning process are thoroughly addressed.
• Analyze test results to identify potential issues or inefficiencies, providing actionable recommendations to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during the testing and commissioning phases, ensuring seamless project execution.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on testing outcomes, documenting findings and providing insights to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure the timely provision of necessary materials and equipment for effective testing and commissioning activities.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions, fostering open communication and collaboration among team members.
• Stay abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies related to substations and high-voltage systems, applying new knowledge to enhance operational practices.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of 380/132/* kV substations.
• Experience with GIS, switchgear, and control & protection systems is essential.
