About the Role

Buro Happold Engineering is seeking a Transport & Mobility Consultant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is for an individual with 2-5 years of experience, looking to contribute to significant infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

The Transport & Mobility Consultant will play a key role in the successful delivery of transport and mobility projects within Riyadh and the broader Middle East region. The role involves contributing to high-quality technical and commercial outcomes, taking ownership of specific tasks, and providing robust analysis and clear recommendations. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects and contribute to a practice focused on sustainability, equity, and social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of transport and mobility projects, ensuring high-quality technical and commercial results.
  • Take ownership of defined tasks and technical workstreams, producing analysis, recommendations, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical input for transport planning assignments, including master plans, strategic studies, and access/parking assessments.
  • Support the development of strategic advice for clients and stakeholders on transport solutions, focusing on urban integration, sustainable travel, and client objectives.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and other client-facing outputs.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams through clear communication and coordination.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team culture through initiative, curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Support business development activities through research, proposal inputs, and market awareness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transport planning, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in transport planning.
  • Experience contributing to a range of transport projects in the Middle East, including strategic studies, master plans, and access/parking studies.
  • Working knowledge of transport-related software such as GIS, VISSIM, VISUM, Synchro, and Sidra.
  • Strong understanding of core transport planning principles and an interest in future mobility and emerging transport technologies.

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and technical workstreams with appropriate supervision, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear reports, presentations, and technical notes.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
