Job Description

About the Role

WSP is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to lead the planning and design of transport strategies for large-scale, multi-disciplinary development projects in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience to provide subject matter expertise, ensuring integrated, sustainable, and efficient mobility solutions that align with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead transport planning studies, including traffic impact assessments, mobility strategies, and master planning inputs.
  • Develop and review transport models, demand forecasts, and multi-modal transport solutions.
  • Provide strategic input into masterplans, ensuring alignment with land use, infrastructure, and phasing.
  • Coordinate with urban planning, highways, infrastructure, and design teams to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Manage design consultants and review deliverables to ensure technical quality and compliance.
  • Engage with stakeholders, authorities, and regulatory bodies to secure approvals and align on transport strategies.
  • Support project teams in resolving complex transport-related challenges during design and delivery phases.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in sustainability, safety, and accessibility.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in transport planning within large-scale developments.
  • Strong experience with transport modelling tools and traffic impact analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • In-depth knowledge of regional/international transport standards and guidelines.
  • Professional membership or chartership is preferred.
