About AtkinsRéalis and the Opportunity

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and offers an opportunity to contribute to significant transport infrastructure projects in the region.

Role Overview

The Transport Planner will contribute to a range of transport planning studies, including large-scale master plan assessments, traffic impact studies, and multi-disciplinary planning projects for both public and private sector clients. The role requires a practical understanding of transport planning's importance in development access and citywide mobility plans, with a focus on applying Middle East and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to various transport planning studies, including large-scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies, and multi-disciplinary planning projects.
  • Undertake junction analysis to support traffic impact assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, including existing conditions analyses, trip generation, junction analysis, and parking assessments.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of transport planning, traffic engineering, and travel demand theory.
  • Apply project experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local transport planning standards and practices.
  • Work with limited supervision and learn new skills quickly.
  • Assist in the growth of the Atkins Transport Planning Business and the promotion of Atkins services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-qualified professional.
  • Between 5 to 7 years of overall experience as a Transport Planner.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of traffic engineering, transport planning, and traffic modelling experience specifically in the Middle East.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Knowledge of Middle East and International Transport Planning standards and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Some experience in project and financial management.
