Virtualization & Compute Infrastructure Engineer (VMware / Nutanix)

About the Role

MIS - Al Moammar Information Systems Co. is seeking a Virtualization & Compute Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in VMware and Nutanix. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of experience in enterprise virtualization and compute environments. The role focuses on administering, maintaining, and integrating critical virtualization platforms and server hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments, including HA/DRS, clustering, patching, upgrades, lifecycle, and capacity management.
• Operate Nutanix AHV clusters through Prism, managing AOS and LCM upgrades, cluster health, storage containers, and performance.
• Provision, migrate, and decommission virtual machines in accordance with technical standards and change management processes.
• Integrate virtualization platforms with Disaster Recovery solutions, including Zerto replication, failover testing, and recovery runbooks.
• Manage Dell PowerEdge servers, including firmware updates, hardware health, iDRAC, and vendor support cases.
• Handle L3 incidents and problems escalated from the Service Desk and EOC, perform root cause analysis, and drive permanent resolution.
• Maintain monitoring, capacity reports, operational documentation, and technical standards for the virtualization and compute environment.
• Automate routine operational tasks using PowerCLI and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with Storage, Backup, Network, and Database teams to ensure end-to-end service availability and performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise virtualization and compute environments, with strong expertise in at least two virtualization platforms.
• Deep hands-on experience with VMware vCenter/ESXi, including HA/DRS, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
• Hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV, AOS, Prism, and LCM.
• Experience managing Dell PowerEdge server hardware, firmware, and health monitoring.
• Proven experience provisioning, migrating, and decommissioning VMs and integrating virtualization environments with DR solutions.
• Experience handling L3 incidents, problem management, and root cause analysis in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of virtualization monitoring, capacity management, and operational documentation.

Preferred Certifications and Skills

• VMware VCP-DCV – Strongly Preferred.
• Nutanix NCP-MCI – Preferred.
• Oracle Linux / KVM certification – Preferred.
• Experience with PowerCLI and REST API automation is preferred.
• Experience with Nutanix DR/replication and Zerto is preferred.
• Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes is preferred.
• Exposure to Oracle PCA/OVM, Oracle Linux, OCI, or Azure, including DR connectivity, is an advantage.

Work Environment

This role involves working within a collaborative IT infrastructure team, ensuring the stability and performance of critical virtualization and compute environments. The position is full-time and based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
