About the Role
HCLTech is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and involves acting as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Windows Server platforms. The administrator will lead complex troubleshooting, manage major incidents, and oversee upgrade and patching strategies within an enterprise production environment.
Role Context and Impact
The L3 Windows Server Administrator is responsible for deep hands-on expertise, problem ownership, and technical decision-making. This position requires direct engagement with customers and stakeholders in an onsite client environment in Saudi Arabia, delivering outcomes under tight timelines and operational pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an escalation point for complex Windows Server issues.
- Lead deep-dive troubleshooting for OS, performance, stability, and service-level issues.
- Own and execute server upgrades, patching strategy, and remediation plans.
- Design, plan, and govern server patching using ManageEngine, including compliance reporting.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for file servers, shared folders, access control, and data availability issues.
- Handle Exchange Server troubleshooting and coordinate with messaging teams as required.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues.
- Support major incidents, outages, and high-severity production problems.
- Maintain and govern server inventory, baseline configurations, and technical documentation.
- Review and approve operational changes related to Windows infrastructure.
- Mentor and guide L2 engineers on troubleshooting and best practices.
Required Experience and Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in Windows Server administration.
- Demonstrated expertise in complex troubleshooting and technical decision-making.
- Proficiency in server upgrades, patching strategies, and remediation plans.
- Experience with ManageEngine for server patching and compliance reporting.
- Strong understanding of file servers, shared folders, and access control.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and manage major incidents.
Work Environment and Expectations
This is a client onsite role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate must be willing to work in enterprise production environments and be ready for shift support, on-call duties, and escalation handling as required.
