About the Role

Raffles Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Chief Accountant for Raffles The Red Sea, located in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical in supporting the Director of Finance in managing all operational accounting duties, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and strict adherence to Accor corporate policies, local KSA financial regulations, and ultra-luxury brand standards. This is a cluster role, reporting directly to the Cluster Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Cashier, and Income Audit.
  • Prepare and finalize accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, such as flash reports, P&L statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll documentation, tax filings (VAT/Zakat), and KSA-specific governmental compliance reports.
  • Conduct monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Oversee and maintain the hotel's General Ledger, ensuring compliance with USALI and Accor accounting standards.
  • Manage the chart of accounts for the cluster properties, ensuring correct allocation of revenues and expenses.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Support the Director of Finance during the financial setup phase of pre-opening, including bank accounts, permits, and accounting software structure.
  • Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all accounting functions.
  • Assist in setting up initial inventory control and procurement systems.
  • Enforce robust internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and prevent fraud.
  • Ensure compliance with KSA tax laws, labor laws, and Accor global policies.
  • Review and verify expense reports, petty cash reimbursements, and purchase requests.
  • Support the training and supervision of junior accounting staff.
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational departments on finance-related queries.
  • Deputize for the Cluster Director of Finance in their absence.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in accounting roles.
  • Proven experience in a hotel pre-opening environment is required.
  • Experience in a cluster or multi-property environment is a significant advantage.
  • Previous work experience in the GCC, specifically KSA or Qatar/UAE, is strongly preferred.
  • Expert proficiency with accounting software (*, SunSystems, SAP), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in the Tabuk region, specifically within the Red Sea Project, with potential involvement in operations in Umluj and Tabuk. The role supports Raffles The Red Sea, a luxury resort property.
