About the Chief Accountant Role

Jayasom Wellness Resort Amaala, located in Tabuk, is preparing for its opening in 2025. We are seeking a Chief Accountant to join our pioneering team. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and plays a crucial role in supporting the finance department and the overall operational success of the resort.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Chief Accountant will assist the Director of Finance in translating the company's strategy into actionable financial programs and activities. This involves ensuring the correct operational structure, policies, and procedures are established. The role supports the business finance department through budget preparation, financial reporting, and business plan development, while also contributing to the company's wellness and sustainability culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all finance activities are conducted ethically and in compliance with local laws.
  • Attend internal meetings and provide financial insights.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist in developing and implementing financial processes.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with month-end closing, financial statements, and management reporting.
  • Submit all required financial reports, detailing any variances.
  • Plan and coordinate improvements in accounting procedures to enhance profitability.
  • Ensure all government financial reports and tax payments are current and monitor local tax compliance.
  • Manage the security of contracts, leases, legal records, and fixed asset records.
  • Direct and manage receiving and storeroom functions, monitoring requisitioning and use of supplies.
  • Assist with credit and collection procedures and ensure accurate monthly debit aging reports.

Team Leadership and Development

This role involves leading by example and fostering a supportive work environment within the finance team. Responsibilities include ensuring team members understand their contributions, providing a space for open communication and feedback, and assigning responsibilities to promote ownership and accountability. Encouraging participation in learning activities and celebrating team successes are also key aspects of this leadership function.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc/BA in Finance or Economics.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within a 5-star resort, preferably during pre-opening phases.
  • Previous experience in a hotel finance department, ideally within the Middle East.
  • Knowledge of taxation in Saudi Arabia.
  • Proficiency in financial IT systems and multiple currency handling.
