The Role of Senior Workability Specialist

The Senior Workability Specialist role is critical for enhancing the performance of the SSS Ph4 contract in Taif. This position focuses on maximising asset availability to increase and sustain aircraft readiness, thereby meeting key performance measures such as 3rd Squadron Operational Readiness (OR) and the 10th/80th Non Mission Critical Supply (NMCS) metrics. The specialist will collaborate with the RSAF Customer to make tactical decisions that support the RSAF flying programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Workability Team Leader in optimising asset availability for the RSAF fleet to reduce criticality and enhance sustained availability.
• Identify, develop, and project manage tactical solutions and mitigations to reduce individual asset criticality and preserve availability, aiming for tangible improvements in asset and platform availability.
• Ensure compliance with local Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) plans, including reporting hazardous occurrences and collating accident/incident data.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders, including the RSAF Customer, MODSAP, PC teams, and Typhoon core programme personnel, facilitating tactical and strategic integration, mitigation activities, and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide frequent reports detailing findings, status, achievements, and performance indicators for various stakeholder levels.
• Support the Workability Team Leader for all Taif Operational & Management Reviews.
• Contribute to ongoing Engineering and Life Cycle Management activities, including defining engineering changes, capability insertion, and promoting Learning from Experience (LfE) for future contract negotiations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in aircraft engineering, maintenance, and support standards.
• Experience working in a fast jet operations support environment.
• Knowledge of the Typhoon aircraft from a maintenance, support, and design perspective.
• Previous experience with the RSAF and/or the RAF.
• Established network within BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and wider UK support organisations.
• Experience in wide stakeholder management across MODSAP and RSAF organisations.
• Experience in project managing continuous improvement activities within an Aerospace environment.
• Understanding of Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Standards, along with change management.
• Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers.
• Knowledge of personnel development and the engineering life cycle.
• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics.
