The Role of Business Unit Manager, Machining & Mechanical Services

This full-time role is based in Yanbu, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and requires over 10 years of experience. The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the Machining & Mechanical Services division. Yanbu is a significant industrial hub, and this position is critical for establishing Naqa Iron as a reliable local workshop for maintenance and shutdown needs for refineries, petrochemical plants, desalination and power plants, cement, steel, and port operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly visits to plants in Yanbu Industrial City to build relationships with maintenance, reliability, and procurement teams.
• Scope jobs on site, including shafts, impellers, pump and gearbox overhauls, and spare parts made to drawing or sample, then price them and convert RFQs into purchase orders.
• Plan for plant shutdown and turnaround seasons, collaborating with turbine and shutdown contractors to ensure workshop bookings in advance.
• Work with the account manager to register and qualify Naqa Iron as a vendor with major operators and utilities in the region.
• Price each job based on workshop hours and materials estimates, confirming capacity before committing to a delivery date.
• Manage the division's profit and loss, including revenue, margin per job and client, and on-time delivery, addressing factors that impact margin such as underpricing, hour overruns, rework, and late payments.
• Develop new service offerings, including CNC production of repeat spares, reverse engineering of obsolete parts, and pump and gearbox overhaul packages.
• Expand the division's operations from Yanbu to Rabigh, Medina, King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), and Umluj as growth occurs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a workshop or business unit.
• Experience serving industrial plants in the Yanbu, Medina, Rabigh, King Abdullah Economic City, and Umluj regions.
• Proven track record of delivering results in a similar capacity.
