About Farabi Petrochemicals
Farabi Petrochemicals is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join its team in Yanbu. This full-time role is integral to maintaining the operational excellence and reliability of electrical systems within our facilities.
The Role of Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer provides essential guidance and support for all electrical maintenance activities. This position involves expert troubleshooting, effective coordination with vendors for spares and services, and proactive implementation of improvements to ensure equipment reliability. The engineer is also responsible for developing and implementing robust maintenance schedules and procedures, alongside conducting training for electrical personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement approved Department policies, processes, and procedures, monitoring adherence to ensure controlled work execution.
- Analyze the performance of electrical systems and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Coordinate with vendors for maintenance contracts and generate comprehensive reports.
- Perform or monitor inspections of high and low voltage terminations, electrical installations, transformers, switchgear, motors, and other electrical items.
- Assist and coordinate maintenance programs with users, determining priorities and ensuring timely completion of work in critical operating facilities.
- Recommend special work schedules during emergency situations and report deviations from approved schedules, assisting in corrective actions.
- Participate in and review electrical design packages, witness commissioning, and follow up with departments to ensure optimization.
- Resolve technical queries, engaging third-party consultants when necessary.
- Plan, test, and inspect field-wide activities, ensuring material and equipment spares are available at job sites.
- Witness and test newly installed equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
- Perform electrical system studies, including system transients, load, and reliability calculations.
- Establish procedures and instructions for equipment inspection and maintenance, adhering to engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Review Project Proposals and Facility Change Requests to ensure maintenance aspects are considered in final designs.
- Participate in equipment replacement decisions by providing technical evaluations.
- Provide on-job training to subordinates, developing their skills for safe and efficient duty performance.
- Review spares and collaborate with procurement and vendors for required spares and services to prevent maintenance delays.
- Record and analyze causes of equipment failure, recommending long-term remedy solutions.
- Evaluate and analyze critical equipment and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Mentor and transfer technical knowledge and skills to entry-level engineers.
- Manage the replacement of obsolete equipment.
- Lead investigation teams and conduct root cause analysis for chronic issues.
- Conduct contractor evaluations and provide recommendations.
- Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
- Ensure compliance with work instructions and plans, and monitor equipment downtime.
- Contribute to updates of procedures and maintenance instructions.
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures across the Company.
- Participate in and adhere to the Company's HSSE Code of Conduct, actively promoting the use of risk assessments.
- Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Participate in incident investigations, providing technical expertise and developing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Contribute to a healthy, secure, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures.
- Conduct quality incident investigations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience.
Working Relationships
The Electrical Engineer will engage with various internal departments including Operations, Maintenance, Project & Engineering, Warehouse, EHSS, Procurement, and HR&GS. External interactions will involve existing and potential suppliers, vendors, and contractors as required.
