Airport Duty Officer

About the Role

flyadeal is seeking an Airport Duty Officer for a full-time position. This role is responsible for ensuring the punctual, safe, and economic servicing of various aircraft types during ground time. The Airport Duty Officer plays a critical part in overseeing ground operations and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent servicing and turnaround for multiple aircraft types, including adherence to procedures for aircraft handling and loading to optimize ground service equipment and manpower.
• Monitor aircraft handling functions provided by contracted service providers.
• Ensure all key staff are informed of the standard time departure/estimate time departure.
• Monitor and record supplier performance, managing and correcting any issues that arise, with a focus on safety and punctuality.
• Maintain regular communication with crew, gate, ramp, and operations teams.
• Conduct ad hoc briefings for ramp staff requiring immediate action.
• Timely report safety and security-related incidents to the concerned department for follow-up.
• Ensure that safe, secure, and correct aircraft handling procedures are followed by the service provider.
• Monitor the safety of the entire operation on the ramp area, involving all staff and third-party suppliers, including the safe unloading and loading of aircraft.
• Monitor effective quality measurement systems to ensure performance delivery and compliance with agreed service standards.
• Continuously monitor and review service delivery standards as contracted with service providers.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in airline or handling agent ramp handling services.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Extensive knowledge of airport operations, application of aviation safety standards, and safe operating practices.
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures.
• Knowledge of management systems, preferably within the aviation sector.
• Knowledge of the AOC holder's ground operations concept.
