Cook II

About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking a Cook II to join its team in the Red Sea region. This full-time position involves preparing and cooking food items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring high quality and presentation. The role requires at least 1 year of related work experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables; measure and mix ingredients accurately.
• Cook food items in accordance with recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to ensure proper cooking and monitor the quality of food products during preparation.
• Prepare and set up the workstation, ensuring proper portioning of food into designated containers.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Ensure that all equipment and food temperatures are maintained at appropriate levels.

Operational and Safety Compliance

• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Communicate with colleagues using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support the team in achieving common goals.
• Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent is required.
• Related Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is essential for this role.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
• License or Certification: No specific license or certification is required.
