Role Summary

Maaden is seeking a dedicated Geologist to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to ensuring optimal mining practices, maintaining geological integrity, and upholding stringent health and safety standards across operations. The role requires a professional with 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations and actively participate in safety training to promote a secure working environment.
  • Conduct detailed geological and structural mapping, along with comprehensive sampling of the mine site.
  • Assist in the systematic collection and thorough analysis of geological data.
  • Manage on-site samplers and spotters, overseeing data collection and preparing end-of-shift reports.
  • Perform precise Ore markups and supervise the ROMPAD to ensure the bleeding plan is executed effectively.
  • Provide support to the Senior Mine Geologist in grade control prediction, Blast Movement Monitoring (BMM), and daily mine operation reporting.
  • Assist the Mine Geologist with planning for RC grade control drilling.
  • Manage daily RCGC site operations, ensuring the consistent quality of samples.
  • Execute RCGC logging, coordinate with the laboratory for sample dispatch, and validate database entries.
  • Apply geological expertise to support and enhance optimal mining practices.
  • Utilize geological software for advanced data analysis and interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate records of geological findings and prepare detailed reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with mining engineers and other site professionals.
  • Compile weekly geology reports into a single comprehensive document, integrating monthly operations data.
  • Interpret gathered data, logs, and borehole drill core samples using accepted geological techniques.
  • Support model-mine-mill reconciliation processes and leverage results to drive improvements in Resource Models.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of direct reports.
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and apply current industry technical and operational best practices within the field of geosciences.
  • Organize and streamline geological support processes for all mines.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should demonstrate the following:

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in geology, preferably within a mining environment.
  • Proven ability to conduct geological and structural mapping, sampling, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in the use of geological software for data interpretation.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations relevant to mining operations.
  • Experience with RC grade control drilling, logging, and sample quality management.
  • Capability to interpret borehole drill cores and compile detailed geological reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating the performance of direct reports.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and application of industry best practices in geosciences.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role based in Saudi Arabia, primarily involving on-site work within mining operations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of geologists, mining engineers, and other professionals.
