Role Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that the "Gold Standards" of The Ritz-Carlton are consistently met in guest rooms and public areas. This full-time role involves overseeing daily housekeeping operations, maintaining quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and facilities such as the pool after cleaning to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Manage sold room reports, verify room statuses, identify discrepancies, prioritize cleaning schedules, and update the status of departing guest rooms.
• Support Housekeeping management in overseeing daily activities and operations.
• Serve as a liaison to coordinate efforts between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments.
• Document and resolve issues related to discrepant rooms in collaboration with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments to the team.
• Communicate any outstanding issues or important information to the next shift.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Operational Duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure personal appearance and uniform are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; express genuine appreciation to guests.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues and guests.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; listen and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Ensure adherence to established quality expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance, and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
• Capability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods throughout an entire work shift.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems.
• Read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality sector. The ability to learn and exemplify The Ritz-Carlton's Gold Standards, including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, is essential for success in this position.
