Lead Specialist Engineering and Virtualization

About the Role

Maaden is seeking a Lead Specialist, Engineering and Virtualization, to support its Data & AI strategy in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on delivering resilient, scalable, and secure platform engineering and virtualization capabilities, establishing the technical foundation for advanced analytics, artificial intelligence solutions, enterprise applications, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing virtualization and platform environments for business-critical applications and Data & AI services.
• Optimize platform capacity, availability, and performance to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Strengthen infrastructure resilience through proactive lifecycle management and continuous platform enhancement.
• Enable Data & AI workloads via robust platform architecture, virtualization technologies, and infrastructure services.
• Accelerate the deployment and integration of data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI capabilities.
• Improve service stability through effective monitoring, automation, and performance optimization practices.
• Reduce infrastructure complexity and operational inefficiencies through standardization and process improvement.
• Maintain compliance with enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and infrastructure standards.
• Strengthen platform security by implementing appropriate controls, vulnerability mitigation, and access governance practices.
• Drive adoption of emerging virtualization, cloud, and platform engineering technologies.
• Build effective partnerships with technology teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise on virtualization and platform engineering initiatives.

Success in this role will be measured by high platform availability and service reliability across Data & AI environments, improved infrastructure utilization and operational efficiency, and reduced service disruptions. It also includes strong compliance with cybersecurity and technology governance standards, successful delivery of platform enhancements, and increased stakeholder satisfaction with platform performance and service quality.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience in platform engineering, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise technology environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical business applications.
• Experience in Data & AI platform environments, analytics infrastructure, or digital transformation programs.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional technology engagements.

Work Environment

This role operates within the technology functions, collaborating across various teams to ensure platform environments are secure, available, and aligned with business growth requirements, while supporting innovation and operational excellence.
