MWD Field Engineer

About the Role

Progressive is seeking an experienced MWD Field Engineer to support directional drilling operations on land-based projects in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves the operation, maintenance, and optimization of MWD systems to deliver accurate real-time downhole data, supporting drilling performance and well placement objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MWD tools and surface equipment during drilling operations.
• Monitor and transmit real-time drilling, survey, and formation evaluation data.
• Perform survey management and ensure data quality throughout drilling operations.
• Support directional drilling teams with accurate toolface, inclination, and azimuth information.
• Troubleshoot and resolve MWD tool failures both at surface and downhole.
• Prepare operational reports, surveys, and well documentation.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, HSE standards, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with Directional Drillers, Drilling Supervisors, and Rig Personnel to optimize drilling performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3+ years of MWD field experience in directional drilling operations.
• Hands-on experience with Tolteq MWD systems.
• Experience operating Positive Pulse telemetry systems.
• Strong understanding of directional drilling principles and survey management.
• Experience working in 12*" and 16" hole sections is preferred.

Skills and Attributes

• Ability to troubleshoot MWD hardware and software issues independently.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Work Environment

This position requires willingness to work rotational assignments in remote field locations within Saudi Arabia.
