About the Role
International Maritime Industries is seeking a Specialist, Contracting to manage the full lifecycle of service contracting activities. This full-time position involves ensuring the timely award and execution of high-quality, competitively priced service contracts, adhering strictly to IMI procedures.
Role Overview
The Specialist, Contracting is responsible for reviewing and releasing purchase requisitions, issuing RFPs, coordinating with internal proponents and suppliers, and leading bid evaluations. The role requires a focus on delivering high-quality and timely outcomes in all procurement and contracting activities, ensuring compliance with established organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with the organization’s code of ethics, procurement policies, procedures, and applicable regulations to safeguard integrity and promote transparency.
- Apply expanded conceptual knowledge of contracting principles to strengthen the quality of procurement outcomes.
- Communicate complex contracting information clearly to stakeholders to support understanding and effective decision-making.
- Provide informal guidance to new team members to support their learning and consistent application of procurement standards.
- Analyze and resolve routine contracting issues using technical experience and sound judgment.
- Lead and coordinate the full development of service contracts.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of contracts, ensuring alignment with commercial, technical, and legal requirements.
- Recommend enhancements to contracting processes and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to procurement-related KPIs, proactively addressing gaps or risks.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation and correspondence related to all contracting activities throughout the contract lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-9 years of relevant experience in contracting or procurement.
- Demonstrated understanding of contracting principles and procurement processes.
- Ability to apply technical experience and sound judgment in problem-solving.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position within International Maritime Industries, focusing on critical service contracting activities. The role requires adherence to strict organizational procedures and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
