About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an Assistant Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive medical care and supervision within the pediatric gastroenterology department.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Assistant Consultant will support Consultants in delivering patient care and management in Pediatric Gastroenterology, adhering to established medical standards. This includes conducting patient assessments, compiling case histories, assisting in diagnosis and management planning, and documenting findings. The role also involves providing on-call coverage, participating in ward rounds, following up on investigation results, and attending specialty and outpatient clinics.

  • Assisting Consultants in patient care and management.
  • Performing patient assessments, examinations, and history compilation.
  • Assisting in diagnosis and management planning.
  • Providing on-call coverage for the specialty.
  • Participating in ward rounds and documenting findings.
  • Following up on investigation results and modifying treatment.

Academic and Supervisory Duties

This role includes academic responsibilities focused on training and development. The Assistant Consultant will provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest techniques and developments in the field is essential, with selective implementation to enhance technical standards. Participation in departmental educational activities and training programs is also expected.

Research Engagement

The Assistant Consultant is expected to contribute to the hospital's research initiatives. The aim of this participation is to advance knowledge, enhance postgraduate education, and contribute to the hospital's national and international recognition.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology. The role requires a strong understanding of medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, and procedures, as well as adherence to standards of medical care.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role operates within a hospital setting, requiring collaboration with consultants and other healthcare professionals.
