About the Role

Hala is a prominent fintech company operating in the MENAP region, focused on transforming financial services and building the future bank for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The company provides SMEs with advanced financial and technological tools to support their business operations and growth. Established in 2017 and licensed by the Saudi Arabian Central Bank, Hala operates across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, offering solutions that enable merchants to digitize payments and manage their sales and operations.

The Corporate Development Analyst will be an integral part of the Corporate Development department, reporting to the Corporate Development Manager. This hybrid role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves high-impact analytical work, data assessment, market benchmarking, and providing support for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), fundraising, and other corporate strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end execution of M&A and strategic investment opportunities, including market screening, target identification, and outreach.
  • Build and maintain robust financial models, including valuation, business plans, and scenario analysis, to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive benchmarking across the fintech, payments, and SME ecosystems.
  • Prepare high-quality materials for senior management and board discussions, such as investment memos, strategy decks, and performance updates.
  • Assist in fundraising activities by supporting the preparation of investor materials, managing the data room, and conducting financial analysis.
  • Analyze internal performance data, including Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV), cohorts, unit economics, and lending portfolio, to generate actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Assist in due diligence processes by coordinating workstreams, analyzing findings, and supporting deal execution.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, product, and business intelligence, on key strategic initiatives and business cases.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and potential partners to identify new growth opportunities for the company.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0-1 years of experience in an analytical role within a high-growth environment, such as a technology startup/scaleup, strategy consulting, or banking.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in business case development.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English.
